Our History
Sonoma County Building Economic Success Together (BEST) initiative was formed by Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce to address the need for a public-private partnership approach to economic development in the wake of the severe recession that started in 2008. The Chamber raised over $3M to launch the initiative from local businesses and the County of Sonoma.

North Bay Food Industry Group (FIG) Established after BEST Discontinued
2013
In October 2012 at a private meeting hosted by the North Bay Business Journal, Willi Tamayo of La Tortilla Factory stood up and made an impassioned plea for the food industry to organize and have a “voice” in our community. The idea for FIG was born at that moment and BEST was considered the best organizer to make it happen. Subsequent meetings established an agreement that food businesses could learn from each other to support business growth and success while building community for the industry in the North Bay.
Naturally Bay Area Established as Affiliate of Naturally Boulder
Naturally Bay Area, a 501(c)(6) non-profit corporation was formed in 2018 to connect entrepreneurs, investors and corporate innovators in the food and natural products community in Northern California. Naturally Bay Area was the first regional affiliate of Naturally Boulder, which had been the catalyst for Colorado’s dynamic natural products community and companies for more than a decade.

Naturally Network Established
Carlotta Mast of New Hope, along with leaders of FIG and other Naturally affiliates, work to establish the Naturally Network.
2021
FIG Rebranded at Naturally North Bay, a Naturally Network Affiliate
In 2021 FIG officially joins as an affiliate of the new Naturally Network and changes its name to Naturally North Bay.

Naturally Bay Area and Naturally North Bay Merge to Become Naturally NorCal
Naturally NorCal was born from the merger of Naturally Bay Area and Naturally North Bay, two thriving communities dedicated to supporting and growing the Natural Products industry. By uniting these two vibrant ecosystems, we expanded our reach and impact across Northern California, creating one dynamic organization committed to fostering connections, education, and growth.
